Our power surged too! Intense cell, and it wasn't severe warned anymore. Yeah, local weather guys acted like it probably wasn't going to storm. Some didn't get any. Others did.i wasn't sure I would get anything. Glad something happened.

Re: Texas Spring 2018
Um... wow. Over here in Southwest Austin we avoided rain by the slimmest of margins, so all I got was a nice breeze. You know it's over when the lightning starts after the storms pass.

GFS starting to show signs of rainfall more widespread across Texas in the medium to long range. I know it’s a ways off, but it’s nice to see those colors.

Ugh, didn't get much more than a few drops. Lighting all around but that was about it. Speaking of which getting a lot of lighting again even though the storms are well to the east, there's very little stratoform rain, it's just lighting which is concerning me a little. If it's not going to pour, this lightning needs to go away.

Re: Texas Spring 2018
Models are showing an active period coming up with systems taking more of southerly track, that should help get rain farther west and up into the Panhandle. And as everyone knows, pretty much every system this time of year will have svr wx potential. Also, no strong signs of DFW hitting 90 over the next two weeks, we could get into May with no 90 degree days. IIRC, the latest 1st 90 degree day at DFW is actually in June.

Re: Texas Spring 2018
Ended up getting 1.5” of rain here in Wharton. A very nice surprise. I didn’t think we’d get but maybe .25” from this system being this far south.

This doesn’t look that great to me, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction.

The 12z Euro EPS had the farthest west mean 1" line I've seen in a long while with it nearly reaching the Texas/New Mexico line.

Sure does look like a wet pattern is coming up for much of the state to end the month. Let's hope areas that haven't seen much so far this year can get some beneficial rainfall with this upcoming pattern.

Another crisp, cold April morning at DFW. The wind makes it feel colder than it is. It has been rare to see a below normal month.

Overnight models continue to look very good for the Panhandles of TX and OK and they need the rain.
