Pretty good thunderstorm rolled through Denison during the overnight hours, dumped a bunch of rain quickly and flooded a portion of my back yard.

My yard is happy and singing today!!!!!!

EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a Heat
Advisory, which is in effect from noon today to 7 PM CDT this
evening.

* TEMPERATURE...Rising to 95 to 99 degrees between noon and 6 PM.

* HEAT INDEX...Rising to between 110 and 113 degrees by noon or 1
PM and continuing until 6 or 7 PM.

* IMPACTS...Persons spending time outside today, particularly
those cleaning up after the recent floods, are urged to hydrate
continuously before, during, and after outdoor work or activity.
Take frequent breaks in shady areas and use misters to keep
cool. Those who do not follow heat safety tips will be
susceptible to heat exhaustion or heat stroke due to
dehydration.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory is issued when the heat index...a measure of how
it feels when temperature and humidity are combined...equals or
exceeds 111 for 2 hours or more during the day.

surprise! Storms in Fort Worth Models were indeed awful tonight.

Got real windy here all the sudden, actually thought it was thunder at first but storms are too far away

Looking like the extreme southern part of Texas could be in line for more wet weather, No development likely but some organization possible before land fall from disturbed area in SW GOM.
Low shear above normal convergence and divergence high cape. should be on shore tonite or early tomorrow.

Wow 106 DEGREEs Heat Index....I'm at 89 and my Heat Index is 104 degrees and you're at 100 degrees. Can you imagine my humidity up there? I sure wish ya'll had a shot at those big storms to the north

I finally got a little rain over night, not much but every drop helps. The storms that were coming in around 1:30 am Sunday morning split apart before crossing 35W and went to the north and south me, all i got was thunder and lightening and gusty winds.

Finally got a little rain. The gauge read 1/2'' but I don't know how accurate that is since it was raining sideways for most of the storm. The little bit we received sort of helps but as dry as its been and as brown as my grazing pastures are, we need a lot more. Sometimes I wonder why I choose to make a living dependent on the weather..

The EPAC will be active. Maybe one of those storms will get lifted back towards the NE and send some moisture across Texas? The biggest problem is climo, July and August are typically dry and hot across much of Texas. May have to just hunker down and wait for September lol
