I thought I saw that about an hour or so ago.... then all of a sudden i'm seeing satellite of what appears to be the CONUS Southwest region?? Tried to refresh but nothing - odd?

Unfortunately they moved the 1 minute floater away from over Beryl to track storms over the US. Beryl's normal 15 minute imagery floater is still available on Tropical Tidbits.

Wish they would put up another ASCAT type satellite - too much open areas with the Metop A & B almost following each other. Remember I guy that got removed from the NHC some years ago for asking for that - that had me so infuriated back then (for us out here). We got plenty CROW to hand out now.

Not sure who the "they" is you are referring to, but if you and your fellow islanders commission a satellite, I will coordinate with Elon to get it launched on a SpaceX flight

It's not going to suck in any dry air unless there's shear involved. The amazing thing, for me, is how it found a pocket of near perfect conditions in an area full of poor conditions. Hopefully, because it's small, it will fade as fast as it formed but I really don't think we have a very good ability to forecast these in either direction. Some years they beat the odds, some they don't.

CDO is also beginning to expand, especially the south/east sides of the storm. Tonight we could be a large blowup of convection followed by RI, it has that "look" to it IMO.

Knabb pretty much says they have no idea about forecast intensity of Beryl

At least one maybe two Big Ass Towers (BATs) may have just fired off.
Gotta check if there's a High Res Floater.

Nice towers are firing all around the center of Beryl, at Dmin too. The warmer waters its moving into are starting to take effect. Also, noticing some CDO expansion and WV shows the south/east sides are expanding and outflow is improving some. Watch for liftoff tonight.

Beryl may have peaked already, it looks like there might be some dry air mixing in to the west undercutting the cirrus and the moisture envelope is shrinking (with the bulk of it to the east)

It looks like the storm is undergoing some structural changes and trying to expand in size some. CDO has expanded a good bit since this morning and the "tail" to the south is merging in with Beryl now. We are also at Dmin which is likely affecting Beryl a bit due to the marginal SST's.
