The last one, last of more than 150 that we raised and released this summer, has flown off. It was a very good year for the caterpillars. I never had so many before in all my years of raising them. 143 were tagged through Project Monarch Watch and I am hoping to hear about some of them.
If anyone finds a dead Monarch butterfly, check for a little round tag on the hind wings. If you find one please send the butterfly with where it was found, weather conditions, and your name and addy to the addy on the tag. If you find a live butterfly with a tag, don't send the butterfly, but please do send the tag number and other info to the addy on the tag.
I sure hope some of my butterflies make it to reproduce next summer.

Hi Danaus! We were lucky enough to catch a bunch of them migrating...all were healthy and flying well...but tired when they stopped by home. The picture can be found either in the Off Topic forum..or by clicking here
