My son had a soccer game in north Plano at Russell Creek. It was hot, but I started noticing clouds just to the SE building and getting darker. Told another Dad that I had a bad feeling about it because lightning sends everyone off the fields and delays the game. With 6 mins to go in 1st half, lightning horns went off. Never did get to play again. This was around 5:45. So it came from Plano.

It does seem like it has lasted FOREVER compared to other years. It really started down here in May.
Down here, we had a week break in early July with rain and cooler temps, got 5 inches at my house. Then the heat came back with a vengeance, got oppressively humid, and evaporated all the progress the rain made, like it never happened. Things wilted and turned brown again after a couple weeks or so of 100s.
The Hill Country got several inches of rain in multiple spots last week over a multiple day period, but our lakes did not respond at all to it. Most of it got absorbed because of how hot and dry it's been. I really hope a weak Nino forms. That would help out all of us.
