Recon is on the way. One plane is already near Gordon sampling the environment.

Don't see the shear you are talking about but do see some dry air intrusion on the N and NW side currently.
Watch the evolution of the upper low over Cuba. It's been very very close all day, and good conditions are not that far away from Gordon as far as I can tell, but right now northerly shear has increased.
I see that. I was thinking shear coming from the NORTH. Actually that Cuban ULL along with the ULL over the SE CONUS are the driving forces for Gordon today and ATM. The farther it gets away from Fla., the less influence the one to the south will have. It will begin to track more W-NW, as opposed to it's more NORTHERLY component of west. Pretty straight forward if you ask me. Gordon is currently between two rolling pins.

Looks like it’s starting to wrap around the center. To my untrained eyes anyways

Re: ATL: GORDON - Tropical Storm - Discussion
The mid level water vapor loop shows it a little better. Speeding it up looks pretty cool, ha, but also shows the direct blast of shear that hit Gordon. I was joking on chat that it's hard to tell when conditions will improve ... maybe 5 minutes from now.

Agreed. It got pretty far up the coast, but you can clearly see the center pulling away on radar. NWS Tampa has it nice as well.

What;s really impressive, is its radar banding presentation so far out from land. Considering the curvature of the earth that is a pretty good looking banding structure for a mid level TS.

Looks like Gordon is trying to make a slightly bigger eye this time. He was unhappy with the teeny eye he made at first.

Yeah. You can catch out the “8” shape on radar for now. You won’t see that every day.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

Definitely not stacked. Seems to be spitting out eddys or reforming a center somewhere...
