Inner core's taking a hammering and can't maintain towers on a continuous basis.

It's very tilted, not a good sign for intensification.

BTW, I stand corrected on the Recon Flight plans ... I did not note the "CONTINUE 6-HRLY FIXES" at the bottom of the notice, just looked at the planned flight times initially listed.

Don’t think anyone debates that one lol

The debate is the current intensity. Kirk has repeatedly been stronger than most thought, including the NHC. I’m thinking a near hurricane when recon finishes sampling.

We are watching very closely here in Barbados - just under 300 miles away now ... and we could expect effects to start in the pre-dawn times.

Circulation well south of where I thought it was--good chance it's even weaker than most here think.

Yeah, the circulation is further south and west than I thought, it left the MLC well behind, pressure is a good 3-5 mb higher.

Am I the only one confused as to why they're sending recon into a storm that the NHC says won't be there in 4 days?

Probably. But, could someone explain please?

Please don't misunderstand. I am not attempting to dismiss anything that the people in the storm's path might experience. I apologize if my question indicated that.

Kept at 60, so I suspect might have been a bit stronger in between missions.

Colors of lost purpose on the canvas of irrelevance

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.
