Nimbus, my youngest sister is thete in Gasden County, just northwest of metro Tallahassee, and I am extremely closely monitoring this situation. That area will see very bad conditions today and tonight as I have pointed out. Plus Michael could get even stronger at landfall to compound the situation.

Yeah, very concerned for the Capital City.

My company has offices in PC and also Port St Joe. Literally at the marina. Looks to be 10ft or surge in that specific area. I know exactly the places the weather channel are broadcasting from. Police are not letting them get down into town as the evacs were mandatory and yesterday most folks were out of there and shut down. We are staging over 100 staff for FEMA operations in P-City later this week.

Unbelievable we are looking at a strengthening Cat4 storm in October! I know there are few folks that were staying behind in P city and Mexico beach. SMDH.... They have never seen 10 ft of surge with 140 mph winds driving wave action on it. This surge will be well inland given the elevations. We do survey work in that area and there are so many areas that are at Elevation of 8 feet ASL. 4 feet or more of surge above that will be really bad in the many bays and tidal creeks. Praying for folks there! Gulf coast is in the historical record zone now unless there’s some miracle weakening.

It's going for Cat 5. Big indicator with that eye really clearing out and warming.

No, I would use a screencap tool, but SLIDER keeps archives for over a year, the eclipse is still available using the archive tool on the left.

My estimate would be Tyndall AFB but I'm not sure which part of the eyewall.
