Unbelievable that Adair live feed is still running...Total whiteout nothing visible...I think the truck is still stationary on lee side of house right on beach...If they're smart they roped themselves to house pilings...

Adair's vehicle was just pointing back at where they originally parked. Amazing that it is still providing a feed with waves crashing over! Hope those guys are OK!

Unflagged SFMR of 138 knots would make Michael a Cat 5 as well.

Worse he went just east of the eye where the surge is highest.

Exactly. I can not believe he ventured out there.

It looks like the car is submerged, although I actually think it isn't. But it is spinning around....

It is turned. When you could see for a brief moment the camera was facing the other way, looking at that door under the rear deck of the house. It was parked facing the street (and coast).

Truck is (was) parked near where that white Chevy SUV(?) is in Streetview. Best I could tell from when you could still see the edge of the house and deck, and he was talking about the wall.

God I hope your right. That was terrifying.

138kt reading was flagged. SFMR becomes useless when the storm is too close to land.

Crazy stubborn people. :double:

This is so sad that so many people did not evacuate. Unbelievable!!

Evacuation is expensive. When we evacuated for Matthew it cost us $1000 for travel, hotel and food for a family of 3 and the hotels gouging with pet fees. It ended up not causing much damage and we lost power for two days max. For Florence we spent another $700+ and nothing happened. We barely got any rain.

I make pretty decent money and have a healthy emergency fund, so it was merely an inconvenience. If you live on a fixed income or you're poor and don't have any family nearby, what are you going to do? I'm not saying that they shouldn't listen to authorities, but I'm just telling you that it's not that easy for everyone. If the government is telling people to get out, they need to do what California does for folks who evacuate wildfires and reimburse them full or partially for evacuation expenses. That would go a long way in ensuring that everyone pays heed to warnings.

This is coming from someone whose parents decided to ride out Florence because they didn't want to incur the expenses from evacuating and didn't want to be a "burden" on us even though we offered to cover their expenses. And everytime thy're "right" and nothing happens, it emboldens them for the next time an order is issued.
Most cities will transport you free to a shelter that's free where they feed you for free.

It's not comfortable but neither is death, or trying to survive after the storm somewhere that was hit by it.

The feed is still up. If you're getting errors reload the webpage. It looks like the car is submerged, although I actually think it isn't. But it is spinning around....

It is turned. When you could see for a brief moment the camera was facing the other way, looking at that door under the rear deck of the house. It was parked facing the street (and coast).

But there were no longer in the vehicle, right?

Andrew made landfall as a 5 my guy.

Unflagged SFMR of 138 knots would make Michael a Cat 5 as well.

That looked flagged.
