Color me jealous Yukon. I hope to see some snow falling many times this winter. I'd be lying if I told you I haven't looked outside for a rogue snowflake today.

Re: Texas Fall 2018
At this point I’m more interested in what’s going to happen the first ten days in December. I’ve been hearing that it could be interesting during that timeframe. It doesn’t look like this cold snap is going to produce anything. We would need a coastal low or a low to come out of Mexico negatively tilted to produce anything here and I just don’t see that happening.

mPing still showing reports of snow between WF and Abilene. Would not be surprised to see reports shift east from there, but just a novelty at best.

I uploaded this video to You Tube in 2011. This happens every winter in Texarkana. It's a shame Dallas won't see any snow for the next 8 years.

One o our local geniuses on this forum once told me that when the vort max lobe approaches near El paso, typically a gulf low will form on the coast. Will something like this happen?

Beyond this cold snap still seeing signs of the famed "snow' weather pattern for the southern plains. Greenland block is coming with a split jet. The EPO region continues to deliver as guidance has gradually adjusted to seasonal trends there. I would be very surprised if there was not an event somewhere in Texas during the stretch at the end of November and first half of December.
What is about to happen in the high latitude looks beautiful and textbook blocking.

It's usually a very good short term forecasting model. That little band of snow could easily disappear, but i remain cautiously optimistic.

Re: Texas Fall 2018
Earliest snow fall on record for Houston is Dec 4th 2009. 2nd earliest was last year on Dec 8th. 3rd earliest you ask? Dec 10th 2008. Never ever snowed in November.
