Well, the Jax WFO mets have finally listened to me and have issued Wind Advisory for tonight and tomorrow for the entire forecast area.

I am sure the other state WFOs will follow suit......

WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 7 PM EST FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 7 AM to 7 PM EST Friday.

* WINDS...West Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph, with gusts 35 to 40
mph.

* TIMING...Friday.

* IMPACTS...Minor damage to trees, power lines, and property are
possible with wind of this magnitude. Motorists in high profiles
vehicles are advised to use caution until the wind subsides.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds greater than
25 mph are expected for at least an hour, with gusts of 35 to
57 mph at any time.

Minor damage to trees, power lines, and property are possible
with wind of this magnitude. Motorists in high profiles vehicles
are advised to use caution until the wind subsides. Strong winds
can topple trees, blow weakened roofs off houses, and down power
lines. Take precautions to secure trash cans, lawn furniture, and
any other loose outdoor objects.

The developing squall line that we have been monitoring out in the Panhandle south into the GOM is really starting to get going, and that is a growing concern with me. We are now in the dry slot across the area, and as I mentioned a few posts back, this will only aid with destabilizing the atmosphere more by early tonight. This squall line just may get even stronger as it sweeps through the peninsula. This is definitely something that must be monitored closely!

I am surprised SPC did not extend the tornado watch, given the impressive dynamics in place with this storm system. Interesting. I suppose they see the potential of very strong straight line winds and hail as more of a threat for the time being tonight down there. We will see...

We will find out soon, line is approaching the great deflector shield, so far mostly in tact :lol:

Well, the sun has popped out here in Jax as we are in the dry slot of this storm . This is really a big concern as the atmosphere will get more unstable the next few hours, which spells potential trouble with the approach of that squall line from out west a bit later here across North Florida and eventually down the rest of the peninsula as the evening wears on..

Apalachicola is currently getting impacted by that squall line, which is now entering into the Big Bend region and will be impacting the Tallahassee area in the next hour or so. This squall line is beginning to expand in coverage as well as the Low Pressure area is intensifying across extreme Southern Alabama currently and the cold front is beginning to pick up speed as well as the upper trough axis continues to amplify deep toward the Northeast Gulf of Mexico beginning early tonight.

Yep Lake O doing its thing, but down around Naples and Alligator Alley, looks to be intensifying?

I’ve seen better looking squall lines only to produce 20-25 mph winds and rain for 20 mines. Just not inpressed unless it intensifies with the day time heating that’s been going on.

Looks like line over Alligator Alley is intensifying. Now we will see if the daytime heat fuels this line as it approaches metro SE Florida

Like clockwork the squall line has shattered into a bunch of itty bitty pieces before it gets to me. Pretty gnarly gusts in the outflow boundary though

:uarrow: There will be another line of storms to come into the South Florida region later during the evening or during the early wee hours Friday as the cold front moves down into the peninsula.
