Coldest anomalies are by far to the east of Texas though. Still very cold though. Heck it has Atlanta headed down to 0 towards the end of the run.

That looks insane. Next weekend looks like it could be fun. Hopefully this next week we can all track this daily. Get some moisture involved and watch out. Not getting excited yet but that purple blob is easy on the eyes. :froze:

Not sure I’ve ever seen the Euro show air that cold so far south. It crashes the polar vortex into the Mid-South.

I for one don't really like the 12z Euro. It would be hard for Texas to get anything out of that cold air as we would be trapped in dry NW flow. Any disturbance that tries to sneak through will be crushed by the vortex... Nothing is worse than dry cold, it's miserable!
Also, this is funny.

Why not bring up late Jan 1985. After big SSW, some Pacific blocking, severe neg AO/NAO. Core of cold was over Ohio/Tenn valleys but 13" of snow in SA, and a few inches in Dallas.

But of course the mood here could flip 180 by 0z.

DING DING DING !!!!! We have a winner.

Now it was meteorologist Dr. Ryan Maue that posted it. He's got the same reaction most of us here have had - wow. The problem comes in when this gets retweeted/reposted elsewhere, and people that don't really understand everything decide to add a few words. Then the wildfire of misinformation blows up.

The overall pattern supports something like this happening. The million dollar question is WILL it happen. Or will the wall wxman57 built hold ???

12z Euro Ensemble snowfall mean is looking decent for TX over the next 2 weeks. 1 inch line is almost down to central TX.

I just don’t get the NWS blaming people for posting maps like that. It’s a crazy run and gets reaction. Ryan isn’t saying it will happen. Not his fault somebody else takes it as gospel.

Surprised no one is talking about the pretty big temperature bust we are looking at currently. Unless the sun comes out in the next 30 minutes we will not see the upper 60s low 70s.

I hate to be one of "those" people, but what does it show for Louisiana? I don't have access to the Euro. Thanks.

18z NAM (mostly 3km) gives some in the metroplex hope for maybe a snowflake or quick mix in the morning.
