Winds in downtown Dallas area were pretty high too. I saw a number of power flashes as well to my southwest as the line approached, but I’m assuming it was all straightline winds

Some pretty high winds. Initial line blew through pretty fast. A lot of the municipalities decided to sound their sirens due to the straightline winds.

The surface low pressure for this system is pretty impressive to say the least. Likely a windy day.

I was right under the high wind profile, weatherstation indicated 77 mph gust. Some tree limbs down in my neighborhood, and 75% of the wooden fence between me and my neighbor is completely down. It needed to come down anyway....lol. Patio chairs and table was blown to the end of the house, thankfully there was a chainlink fence to stop it from going to the next county over...lol

It’s gonna be a few weeks of bland wx where I’m at cuz this storm system isn’t gonna do anything this far S where I am. Sure glad we got that big 5” storm a couple weeks ago.

When working on the long range forecast for the spring over the past few days with my teammate Arctic Thunder, we noticed how much agreement there is been the latest long range model guidance and analogs. Both are indicating that Texas will see above to perhaps well above normal rainfall over the next few months. It's looking like we're going to have a cool, wet, and active spring this year. I say bring it on!

Well, these fascinating storms are not without consequences. Roof damage to my house—had a few shingles blow off into our side yard. Thankfully, insurance will cover most of it!

Well I'm starting to get concerned about the possible storms here tomorrow. A lot of the short range models are showing possible supercells due to the high shear here. SPC has even mentioned the possibility of strong tornadoes(though they're highly uncertain) in Indiana. What makes things interesting here is that storm relative helicity is fairly strong out ahead of it which can help sustain any supercells that form, especially due to their fast movements.

The point forecast for Guadalupe Peak call for 80mph with gusts to 110mph. They get 75 mph often in the spring out there but over 100 is wild.
