2.6” at my place. Overperformer imo given that there was 0 instability because of widespread clouds and cold pooling.

DFW airport is now over 6.5" for the month of April. Need about another half inch to crack top 10 wettest Aprils. It is the wettest April since 1997.

Next week hopefully we will get it. The week looks wet as we enter May. Will be close.

With the next rounds of rain, severe weather will start to ramp up also in a more traditional way. EWB over the Pacific this week will drop AAM, which in Spring can signal severe weather outbreaks in the Plains as we head deeper into May.

After years of struggling to see tornadoes despite careful forecasting, preparation, and positioning, I've somehow turned into a tornado magnet this year.

@TxStormChasers - A significant #tornado impacted at least a portion of San Augustine in far East Texas at around 11:21 PM this evening. We know there's damage, but information coming out is sketchy at this point. We'll share information once it has been verified. #txwx #etxwx #pray

An hour later...

————

@ChrisPipkinWx - The life-threatening storm that was responsible for dropping a significant tornado over the San Augustine area is now producing even stronger rotation. This is tracking just north of Pleasant Hill, LA. Praying that everyone in the path of this has found shelter. #txwx #LAwx

A long-tracked supercell thunderstorm crossed from Deep East Texas into west-central Louisiana and into the ArkLaMiss overnight. We will be surveying along this swath over the next several days. At this time, we cannot confirm a tornado was on the ground along this entire path.
