Another round of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall is expected across North and Central Texas Wednesday afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms will initially develop to the northwest of Fort Worth during the afternoon, and spread east and southeast into the evening. The primary threats are large hail and damaging winds, but an isolated tornado can not be ruled out. Heavy rainfall may lead to flooding and flash flooding in some locations. Remember, avoid driving through flooded roadways and stay weather aware throughout the day!

A Flash Flood Watch has been extended for portions of North Texas through 7 pm Thursday even. This watch includes locations generally along and north of a Mineral Wells, to Cleburne, to Corsican and Athens line. Localized, additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches, with isolated higher amounts are expected due to separate episodes of showers and thunderstorms. Flash flooding may occur especially in urban and poor drainage areas. Heavy rainfall may also cause flooding of creeks, streams, and rivers. Continue to monitor for future watch and forecast updates updates, as heavier rainfall will begin affecting areas further south of the current watch area Thursday night through early Saturday morning.
