Weather geek and a storm spotter in West Austin. Not a degreed meteorologist. Big snow fan. Love rain and cold! Despise heat!

I was running errands earlier, just got home. Was dark and gloomy the whole time, I went as far as Parmer and McNeil then went down to Metric and Braker, just got back to the house and now it’s pouring with really loud thunder! We’re currently under a severe thunderstorm warning.

And now the lights are flickering. We have underground utilities so that is unusual

Is 11 around? You live next to a government facility?

DFW looks to be almost to 2 inches, so good event overall. Pretty solid totals. I'm slightly over an inch IMBY.

Mine are underground also. Buried utilities. Our power didn't go out. But there was a close lightning strike earlier, think it hit a cell tower near here. Still hearing periodic loud rumbles of thunder shake the house, even though storms ended. Electrified atmosphere.

Is Houston just getting lucky, or is the event now more of a risk north and NE of it?

Pretty uneventful day across southeast TX today. I guess yesterday’s storms zapped all the energy out of the atmosphere.

A little more than 4" of rain in the last two days here at the Portastorm Weather Center in a very wet southwest Austin.

That Rain Miser in South Austin must be doing a lot of dancing! :D

That's what I'm asking. It seems as though we may be missing most of the bad stuff, which is staying well to the north. But will it inch its way toward us over the next few days? We're supposed to have several more days of this left.
