For anyone wondering..

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Sat Oct 18, 2003 9:53 pm

No I have not gone back to the other board and NO I don't hate any of you guys.

There are two reasons why my posts have slowed down considerably.

1. All the storms lately have just been harmless fish

2. I am starting to battle depression head on. I am seeing a counselor at least once a week and I hope to have a doctors appointment in a couple days.

If I ever come here a little sad or you notice me a little sad, feel free to try to lighten up my mood cause I know conquering this is not going to be easy.

In the mean time.. even though Nicholas continues to slowly get pushed further west, I don't believe it's possible for him to make it across the Atlantic and threaten the US.

If the US gets anymore threats this year it will be "home grown" systems or Gulf systems, maybe even the extreme Western Carribean.

Thoughts prayers and opinions wanted.. and by the way.. on a side note.. Go Marlins! :)

We're praying for ya 96. As busy as the season is numbers wise, little real action to get the chatter serious here. Waiting for any Caribbean development. BTW, I battled depression for years and still have some issues with it now and then. I always have to remember that my peace of mind or how good I feel about things is inversely proportional to my expectations. When I raise my expectations, I don't feel so good. When I keep them real, I do just fine.

I have had this thing for several years myself but am finally admitting that I have a problem with it and don't appear to be getting any better.

I know it'll be a tough battle but I think I can win the battle and the war.. :)

With the help of my wife and doctor I have been fighting that battle for 6 years. I almost committed suicide. Trust in those close to you. Know you are not alone. Keep your chin up and know we are praying for you.

I know depression is not just an ordinary case of the blues, and you are doing the right thing in seeking treatment. Yoga and some heart pumping exercise can really do wonders to help lift your spirits. Remember, you are not alone and I know things will get better for you. I will keep you in my prayers.

John, I've been there, and I know it's a tough thing to overcome. I'm glad you're realizing the problem and are getting help with it. Just remember that depression is a physical disorder, caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. It may take some time to find the right combination of treatment, but stick with it. I'll be praying for you.

Hey Josephine -

I have depression too. I've been battling it for years and I've been taking Prozac. It's good that you are going to see a doctor about it. Good luck with it and if you ever need to talk, PM me! :)

John,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and I wish you only success in your struggle. Your courage in confronting Depression head-on and your expectation of triumphing over the condition should help you in your effort.

With regard to that effort, even if things become quite difficult at times, don't ever consider abandoning hope. Hope is sunshine that never fades, warmth that withstands even the iciest Arctic blast, and the bottomless reservoir that continully sustains life. So long as you believe in a better tomorrow, the possibility of that better day will lie before you.

In the end, I truly believe that things will turn out all right for you.

Very best wishes.
