Good evening! TGIF!! TGIF!! That's the spirit! LOL, I got
off of work at 3pm, today, and, spend several hours
running errends....oil change, picking up Mom's medicine,
and, low and behold - while everyone else was buying
Halloween decorations, I bought....a Christmas tree!
My Mom bought a 4' fiber-optic tree from JCPenney,
about three years ago, and, they didn't offer it, after that.
I have looked all over the place - even found a few
websites where I could order one for $60-$80. But,
there, in the pharmacy, were 4' fiber-optic Christmas
trees for $39.99! LoL, you pull it out of the box,
shape it, and plug it in - simple as that - my kind of tree! :ggreen:

Karan, I grabbed a cup of that Earl Grey....mmmm....thanks!
Have fun with the kids!

Everyone have a great Friday night!

SCI, how do you get off at 11am tonight? Just thought I would ask? :?:

Been a gorgeous day here in the Houston weatherwise. Front came through on schedule at noon and cleared out the clouds and we had plenty of sun and blue skies. Supposed to stay that way all weekend!!

Karan, you aren't spoiling those kids now are you?  Have fun!!!

Hmm, I don't see any chocoalte KK's around. Raine must have snuck in or sent Crouton over! :P

If Ticka gets back and feels like it we're going to meet at the races tomorrow night. We actually did several weeks ago, but never knew it!! I walked right by her and even slmost told her "bless you" when she sneezed!! She and Donny and Chastity and friends were sitting about 10 feet away from where I was sitting!! :o :o

Breeze, love those fiber optic trees. Ours is not fiber optic, but it is a plug in so we don't have to string the lights. That 2 hour ordeal got to be a sticking point so we got one that solved that. We have only artificial trees due to allergies. Last time we had a real one we all got sick!! It was wonderful going out and picking it out and cuttingit and all but the aftermath!!!WHEW!!!

Later all!!

Well, good morning all on this fine, chilly Saturday morning! Foggy too. And yes last night we finally turned on the furnace. It's time I guess.......we like to put that off! We're expecting high bills this winter. For the past 3 winters we've set the thermostat on 65, all winter long. We only upped it for company. You do get used to it.....LOL

Where did my window painting go? Been shelved for now, wx isn't cooperating and now we have out of town company coming today. Let's see clean bathrooms or paint windows? he he Sorry, bathrooms are winning out. I will somehow get these windows done before snowfall!!! I'm a slow painter, what can I say? LOL I don't like to scrape it off the window at a later date!

Thanks for that tea Karan, sure hits the spot on a foggy, cool morning. Wish we had a gas FP, it would be on right now!!!!

Have a good weekend everyone!!!

Morning everyone!!!

When I lived in Sedalia I bought a fiber optic Christmas tree that was the talk of the neighborhood. It sat in the window and rotated, too. When people would walk by they would stop and look because it lit up the window so pretty. Breeze... thank you because now I am fired up for Christmas! :multi: I love putting up lights!!!!

Mary I hope you get your painting done soon. :)

David... that is a neat story about Ticka. Hopefully you two can meet together soon. :D

Well I am going to take a cup of hot cocoa and leave some for ya'll if you want any!

Have a super Saturday!
Garrett :multi:

Good Morning!

"Happy 4th of July!" Opps, wait......it's not July is it?? Sure feels like it  the mornings are nice and cool, almost autumn like, the afternoons, "Hotter than HADES!" again :grr: AND the heck of it is.....it's suppose to last WELL into next week, *sigh*....what I'd give to be able to wear sweatshirts and jeans again! Ah well......I suppose winter will be here soon enough I guess, WELL, MAYBE, after reading the article in the Az Republic yesterday, the outlook for winter looks pretty grim!

ANYWAYS.......not much else going on here, not much on the schedule for today, just a round of golf, my tee time is at 1000 this morning, better go find the sunscreen and dig out all of my shorts, I had put most of them away a few weeks back when I thought the cooler weather was here to stay! Make it a GREAT Saturday one and all!

Hey Gang!

Sounds like everyone is getting into the fall projects and getting ready for the holidays (except for poor Dennis). I was just in the basement looking for some Halloween decorations that were misplaced. That goes too for my Thanksgiving decorations now that I think about it! Marty organized the basement a while back. They have to be in one of those boxes. I did manage to empty out one box - in it contained a box with two small cat statues with Santa hats on them that I haven't been able to find for about two years! Perhaps in another two years I'll find the Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations I'm looking for! :o

It's really nice not to have to go to work this Saturday. I noticed on the way home from work last night that my passenger side headlight was out so I'll hit Jiffy Lube this morning for an oil change and for them to replace the light bulb.

The World Series starts tonight. I'll be rooting for the Marlins since they will be the underdog, but I know I share the sentiments of many others that I wish it was the Cubs versus the Red Sox!

Have a great day everyone! :D

LMAO, 11am was a typo!!!

But today, I went in at 8 and got off at 5 after being at work until 11 P.M. (better? LOL) last night! So, needless to say, I am a little drained, but not too tired!

Off to mingle as always, and btw, GO MARLINS!!

LOL, well, Garrett, let's get those Christmas decorations up!
I told my Mom that I was in a good mind to put my tree in
the window and watch the Halloween spooksters wander on
down the street past the "crazy woman's house"! :ggreen:

Miss Mary, I would help you paint those windows, but,
hmmm...let me find those Flexeril samples that I've got
for the achy muscles, first...

Have a great Saturday night, everyone!

We've already decided to wear our Storm2k gear so we know it is really us!!hehehe Wonder if she will wear her...uh maybe I shouldn't go there!!  J/K We do plan to meet next month at the track if it works out. May even try and get the wife to go too!! :D

Daughter found her next apartment today!! Glad to get that out of the way!! She should be much happier without a roomate from hell and being about 30 minutes closer to work!! It was obvious the minute we turned in to the complex that this was going to be the one! Even found her future husband while we were there!!hehehe He was driving a Porsche Boxster and according to my wife "he smelled good" and was cute too. Any future Son-n law of mine that can afford a Porsche Boxster is ok by me!!!

Well not a lot to report from the West Houston S2K headqurters tonight so I will bid you all adieu! :D

Good Morning fellow stovians,

It's a chilly, sunny beautiful day here in the Burgh. The sunrise was magnificent!!!! I can't believe I didn't sleep in today.

Christmas trees. hmmmmmmm. Breeze, I was talking about putting my Christmas lights up outside mainly cause it is so nice out and I thought I'd get it done while it's warm. My friends looked at me like I was nuts sooooooo, I nixed that project.

LOL, Stephanie. The same thing happens to me. I'm sometimes so organized that I can't find a thing. The last box that I fill when putting away the Christmas decorations may have anything in it. One year I found a shoe that I'd lost the previous year.

I need some of that Flexeril too. I worked in the yard yesterday and Oh Boy, my body is yelling at me today.

Dennis, I'll stoke the fire while you're out on your search. Be safe my friend.

Well, I haven't even put on the coffee yet. I'll brew a pot of Earl Grey too. Maybe that sweet person we all know and love will bring some yummy cinnamon rolls!!!! Thanks for the cocoa Garrett.

Hey Stormcrazy, are you up yet????? Shhhhhhh quiet!!!!

As Eric would say, have a Super Sunday my friends
Take care
Karan

David, my son in law has a porshe and smells good. I hope you weren't speaking of him.lol Glad your daughter found a nice place.

Good morning PBS members - its been a long time since I visited here. I just wanted to stop by and ask for few prayers.

I am going on my third round of being sick in the last five weeks. This one has really been rough. I got sick in Corpus Christis - where I was attending a Govt Finance Officer meeting. Last night I was up all night with fever and night sweats - my poor husband who has to work today - was up all night with me. If I don't get better today - I'm going to the doctor in the morning.

Its a beautiful cool day here in Baytown - couldn't ask for more gorgeous weather. Well say a little prayer for me that I start getting well soon. I can't afford to miss anymore work. BTW my daughter and hubby both had it last week - heard that this strain is highly contagious.

If you haven't gotten your flu shot - do it NOW.

God Bless everyone.

Good Morning Stovians!

Well, I see Dennis is up and at 'em early. I hope he, Michelle and the SARS dogs find the person and get back to the stove quickly!

Ticka - I'm sorry that you're sick again! I was actually hoping that the cold that I had last month will cover me for the flu season! You probably should get that shot and I do hope that you feel better soon! Better luck next time with meeting up with David!

I should've went outside yesterday, but I felt like being lazy and after I got home from my errands I curled up with a book (after making a pit stop here  ) and napped. Marty was on a motorcycle ride with some of his friends.

Today is cleaning day - BLAH!!!! I'd better get started soon before the game comes on.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Ticka, DO see the doc, tomorrow. Even if you feel some
better, by getting some antibiotic on board, it can help
prevent another occurance of that nasty stuff! Half of
our neurology patients are coming in sick with colds
and such, and, I only know that it's a matter of time
before I pick something up, too.

Steph, I've got house chores to finish up, too - it seems
I had so much going on, yesterday, that, I never seemed
to get things completed! Lunch at Mom's, and, ahhh....
back to washing and vacuuming! :P

OK Ticka...time to get that full blown checkup! Three times in recent weeks is not good. We need you back full strength for all the caroling and Christmas festivities. Time to get yourself better for the winter!

As Dennis says...still HOT out here. 100+ is hanging on, but some relieve in small doses as the week progresses. Nature has a wonderful way of balancing it all, so we will surely be chillin' out in the next few weeks.

Still...lots of Halloween and Christmas goodies on sale. We have a brand new Kohls (I think 8 of them opened in Phoenix this weekend) and they have both Christmas and Boo-stuff ready to go! Tis the season.

Lucky me...prep day for my colonscopy tomorrow. Be staying close to home this afternoon, for sure. The leash is not very long once you start drinking the good stuff! The test is part of what seems like a year-long physical any more, not the result of any symptoms or concern. I expect results to be fine.

Best news of the day...Kathy found $150 in checkbook errors TO THE GOOD this morning! Feels like I won something!

Speaking of winning...the old Alma Matre NIU has made quite an impression in football this season. 7-0 and on ESPN2 next weekend.
Takes a little sadness away from the Cubbies....

Steve - oh lucky you today.....I've done that lovely prep now at least 9 times! For procedures and surgeries. Look for a PM, I know some things that work and don't work well for me.

Good afternoon Stovians!!!

Karan- HECK NO I wasn't awake at 8:19 am, slept peacrfully until 11:30am!!! :D Now THAT is what I'm talkin about!!

David- LMAO!!! You tell your daughter if she doesn't want the Porsche hottie to send him MY way!!

Ticka- It just isn't letting up for you is it? Well, I hope this is your last round!!!

What a FABULOUS October day! I can't believe it is October 19 and over 70° out, feels like heaven, and looks like it too! I need to go spend some time outside, and I have a whole roll of film to use up- until we open our Wally World we can develop film for $1 a roll!!! Only got a week or so left so I have to get on it!

Well, I hope everyone has a terrific day and I should be around later! Until then I know it is coming on 3 o clock, but we made Bacon Bit Pancakes and I've got plenty left if y'all want some! Happy Sunday!

Good Morning!

OH WAIT....it feels like it, I just got up, instead of drinkin' coffee to wake up, I've got a cold MGD, no cream or sugar please "LOL!"

As you probably read, we found the lost subject alive and well, just cold and hungry. Thanks for all of your prayers and concerns. I'm afraid these searches are going to become common place from now till late Dec. with all the huntin' seasons and winter activities, that is "IF" winter ever gets here "LOL!"

As Steve said, it's STILL hotter than HADES out here BUT.......it appears, according to GFS......a cooling trend is in the cards by Weds, God I hope so, don't know how much more of this heat this poor ol snowman can take!

TICKA!?!?! You take care of yourself, ya HEAR? And YES.......get y'alls butts down and get your flu shots, I've never gotten one but this year, I am, on Tues...too much publicity about this being a BAD flu season!

Well folks, even though we had a 3 hour nap, I'm still pooped Sooooooo, until tomorrow morning, "May The Good Lord Bless and Keep You!"

Good Morning!

Steve, hope everything is well with you this morning, I've never had the honor of going thru those tests, I know ONE of these days the sawbones is gonna insist, until then!

3 more days of heat in the forecast *sigh* is it ever gonna turn cool? One way to look at it I guess, the longer it stays this "HOT"....the less snow I'll have to shovel "LOL!" I've got a bad gut feeling that this winter is gonna be a bust....let's hope I'm wrong!

Well, got a few things to get done this morning..take care and make it a great day even if it's Monday *sigh*!

Good morning everyone! It's going to be a fine day here in Cincy, an Indian Summer day I do believe. High of 77 is expected! Sunny too. Back to window painting for me.....ugh. No actually it's quite calming. I love to paint just can't always find the time.

Thinking about ya Steve and what you're going thru this morning - let us all know how it went! FYI, colonoscopies aren't really that bad folks, I've had 6, it's just the prep that's difficult. Actual test? Piece of cake, and trust me, I've been thru far worse, medically speaking. So don't ever put off this very important test - it could literally save your life!

Okay, I'm off my medical soapbox, for now anyways!!!! It's quite easy for me to get up on it - I'm a firm believer in prevention, not running to the doc for a sniffle, but physicals and necessary procedures are sooooo important!

Have a good day everyone.
