Was the UKMet from the other day onto something here, not tracking the center but that big convection blob?
I think the models were having issues with the two ridges. if Barry had not ingested so much dry air a couple days ago this would be a texas storm.. the two ridges are stronger at different levels of steering. a stronger system would have been likely steered more by the ridge to the NW and stayed on a more westerly to wsw track for longer.
