When will Chantal Form?

#1 Postby TheStormExpert » Fri Jul 19, 2019 10:48 am

Now that Barry has come and gone when to you guys think me may see Chantal? (Moderators could you please turn this into a poll?)

I'm going to go with sometime in mid-late August for now, but wouldn't be surprised if something develops sooner.

Moderator cycloneye=Edited thread to add a poll where the members can vote until July 31.

I'd guess somewhere around August 5-10, over the MDR after the CCKW passage.

Early August. Gets the MDR moving, but I think this one is the "false start" storm that just kicks out the dust and dying before the islands.

Well, we may possibly be seeing Chantal as early as the next few days. Invest 94 has been tagged by NHC east of the Bahamas early this morning.

Also going for mid-August, but I won't count out the CCKW trying to form something early in the month.

I'm gonna go with August 3rd, so in the early August camp as well. It might be a pre-cape verde season storm if you know what I mean.

Things look like those only 2 votes that voted for 21-31 are looking good as the supressed phase of the kelvin wave is going to be in the Atlantic for the next 2 weeks.
