I agree. I have this feeling that when something significant finally forms from one of these waves, the models won’t show it until it is more in the medium range. So it is important to track the 850mb vort to see where the wave may go and watch if models pick it up for genesis potential in a future run. It could even be a scenario where one run shows nothing and the next run shows something significant.

I dont know what this means for the future of this wave down the road but instead of losing convection as it hits the water it gains.Look at this zoomed animation.

The only problem I see at this time is that it is getting a trade push which should delay development until 40w at the earliest

Dry air still awaits this wave, sinking branch will limit development, if any, to what it is now and there doesn’t seem to be any model support. MDR is closed for now, but it’s about to open for a limited time.

Wave still has good convection and has to be watched down the road.

I wouldn’t sleep on this wave yet, it’s still got good vorticity even with little to no convection due to cooler waters until 40w since the most vorticity is at or near 20n

The 0zGFS wants to try to develop this between Bermuda and the east coast at day 11, the fact that the GFS is starting to slowly trend to development with this wave is something that needs to be watched
