Married at the Wal-Mart

#1 Postby southerngale » Mon Oct 20, 2003 2:59 pm

Couple Weds Where it All Began: Wal-Mart

Ford Lund and Rae Bauer wanted to wed where it all began -- the Wal-Mart store in Missoula, Montana, where they met and where they work.

They bought the cake and bought their rings there, too.

The 74-year-old groom and 48-year-old bride met as co-workers in the garden department. They wed Saturday on the lawn in front of the store. Their co-workers got a quick break to attend the ceremony.

The wedding photos were taken at the store's portrait studio. There was a small wedding day crisis -- the rings were temporarily misplaced, but the couple quickly borrowed a pair of rings from the jewelry department and carried on.

What a sweet story but I agree, I certainly would not want to get married at work.

I'm not a wedding purist....If I ever get married, I have no intention of saying my vows in a church or wearing a tuxedo (unless my fiancee tells me too :D :D

I'd love to get married on the beach....just like a wedding I once saw on "Baywatch" (think it was Eddie and Shauni's wedding).
I just think a beach wedding would be so romantic :) :)

PBurgh....you are right. The Hyatt in Lahaina on Maui is a great setting for a work-wedding.

Here in Phoenix, we have hot air balloons launched virtually every day of the year. Many couples propose while floating high above the desert floor.

But work? Don't think so. Everyone would have ink all over their tuxedo's and that poor bridal gown would have so much black ink on it that she would look like a cow!

Congrats to the Wally World Wedding mates just the same.
