Agree generally with everyone about the size of Dorian this morning. His moisture envelope and convective area has expanded and no doubt his wind field and strength both growing. I have to admit that I thought this system was doomed once it reached the Carib. Islands a couple days back, not so anymore. Looks like the first potential Tropical Wave to TC threat for the US.

Barry was not the result of a Tropical Wave. It was a continental vort spun off a longwave trough.

Yeah it has been there for a few hours.

A recent micrwave showed a 50 percent eyewall. That has likely closed. Ir is close.

A littlenwarm spot has been peaking in and out.

The eye feature is very tiny indeed. But it's there in all likelihood.

Well I have to give props to the NHC on Dorian so far, many were surprised at the hurricane forecast but Dorian sure looks well on it's way. Growing concern for what happens after the Caribbean should have things hopping around here this week. Who needs September?

SHIPS has had high RI chances for days now.
