Erin is the designated driver of the atlantic tropics lol. Will determine where Dorian goes, or where it wont

So much for that quiet August. The quality of storms hasn't been that great other than potentially Dorian but definitely put a squash on all the 'season cancel' posts. Rattled off 3 storms before the end of the month and conditions are only expected to improve....

OK, so what's Erin gonna do and when is she going to get to it, so we can finally get a handle on what Dorian's gonna do and where he'll eventually end up? Seems like Erin's mucking up the works and making the prognosticators a little crazy.
Obviously, Erin's a fish storm only.....
....and a disruptor.

Erin’s low will start pulling up north later today, that’s for certain. It’s the energy that it seems to be leaving behind and the ULL to its south that will start playing a factor on the track of Dorian.

Wouldn't hurt my feelings if the mid level circulation spawned low level centers until it got Absorbed by Dorian, but that ain't gonna happen, too much shear from the primary circulation.

If you want to keep track of the remnants of Erin check out my weather blog. I update every few hours when there is a storm ongoing (in Maine, and/or the Canadian Maritimes).

There is still a couple of clusters of impressive lightning strikes south of Nova Scotia at this hour.
