Looked like kermit had a 20kt increase in flight speed and now are back down, which looks like there in center. All at flight level 10k ft

Hard to remember the struggles this storm endured. This may get to 5 easily although a strong 3 or weak 4 at landfall would not surprise me. The panic that a 5 will add to tomorrow's mandatory evacs will be substantial. If you are in SFL take a breath and determine your true risk and try not to get caught up in a panic. The traffic jam tomorrow will be from the GA FL line to Palm Beach so if you need to leave, leave tonight or Sunday at midnight. Sitting in traffic for 20 hours is not going to help your nerves.

This has been so weird to follow here in the Tampa/St Pete area. I know with Irma I felt like I had no idea what was going on until two days before and this seems similar, but I see many people saying they doubt it will turn out to be an Irma situation or even shift back to south/west again. Just curious why that is? I follow most the dialogue on here, but a lot can go over my head ha

I'd say there is just as much uncertainty as then, it's just easy to get caught up in the most recent model runs.

its not moving straight west but its between w and wnw..

There is a fair amount of regional bias in posts here from time to time. Learning how to weed through that is key to your forum survival ;)

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.
