Do you honestly think that no Republican women ever had an abortion?
It's unfair to say all people of any party approve of such an horrendous practice.

I'm probably guilty of doing that also, although I think (I hope) I tend to use "liberal" instead of "Democrat" because there is a slight difference.

But you're right, Johnathan. My grandparents are and my mom was pro-life. And they're all Democrats. I'm pro-life and I'm Republican. I'm not sure what my dad was since he died when I was 5. My grandparents are snobby and, in a very subtle way, somewhat racist. I hear a lot of people who assume Republicans are racist. But weren't a lot of Klansmen all Southern Baptist Democrats? A lot of gay rights people speak out against the Republican party. And yet, hello...I'm Republican.

The lines are too fuzzy. No one can (nor should) let one party dictate their EVERY belief and conviction.

I do not think Helen is talking about people in general. She is talking about the politicians.

You are right about the KKK being Southern Baptist. I am a Southern Catholic and the KKK hated us down here in the South. But, I still fly my Confederate Battle Flag in honor of our heritage and veterans, not because of the KKK and their hate for color.

That's true, Johnathan. Our representatives vote their own opinions on issues, not what the majority
of their constitutes are saying.

What in the world---KKK are Southern Baptists! I have never heard such a thing. Are you stereotyping Baptists?

RAinstorm,
Since you are obviously a Republican, and that is your choice, am I to assume you are a staunch supporter of Rush and his beliefs?

its just the republicans are closer to the idea of presonal freedom and liberty. dems and libs are in favor of state control, in other words, fascism.

No, I was arguing AGAINST stereotyping. Re-read my post. I was trying to state the ignorance in making such generalizations (although I did make a typo and "all" should have been "also" -- my fault there). And it was in the form of a question.

It's basic college logic. Mice are rodents. But not all rodents are mice. Some rodents are rabbits.

Some Southern Baptists were KKK. But not all Southern Baptists were KKK. And the KKK wasn't only Southern Baptists.

Rainstorm,I don't know any Democrats, or anyone, thank goodness, who are Fascists. So, if you are independent, what do you think of Rush?

GAlveston,
I didn't see your post; I was responding to LindaLoo's mention of the KKK and Southern Baptists. Sorry for the mix up..... :D :D :D

Ah...gotcha, Sunnyday! :) I don't think Lindaloo was generalizing either. Just responding to me with a brief reply. :) :)
