Re: Top hurricane sat photos of all time...
I was going through some imagery of old storms when I came across this one: WMG eye with a 100 nm diameter and a solid W ring surrounding it. What do you think, does it deserve a T7.0?

That is exactly it! You even got the time right, as all the images are from 17-18Z September 4th, 2005. Nabi was indeed a category 5, but not at this time. Nabi peaked out late on September 1st around sunrise with a spectacular large eye and bands (below). The images above are actually just as Nabi completed eyewall replacement going from huge eye to huger eye. Nabi is one of my personal favorites, but due to occurring just a few days after Katrina '05, is often overlooked.
Here's a couple more from after eyewall replacement.

Have a different picture to show you. This is ex-Harvey after it initially degenerated into a tropical wave in the Caribbean. You can see the shadow from the Solar Eclipse in this picture giving a cool brown color in the clouds. Looks very ominous considering what this storm ended up being a few days later.

The high tropical Atlantic can sometimes produce this horizontal look to systems. Maybe it is a higher latitude thing especially when ambient dry air is around?

Another of Dorian. Remember when it was supposed to make a suicide run at Hispaniola and sputter into Florida as a wave or at most a just-reorganized minimal TS?
Oh, and for you season cancellors, it's still August...
