18z GFS now indicating development

#1 Postby Vortex » Wed Oct 22, 2003 7:27 pm

For the first time the Gfs now closes off a low over the western carribean and moves it north towards Cuba on sunday. This is what JB was alluding to as the strong cold front approaches from the west. This scenario would in fact bring the system across Florida and possibly the East coast.

Take a look now at the upper levels ... indicating SW winds over the system in response to a very deep trough over the Eastern 1/3 of the US (major Eastern player) and the upper anticyclone displaced well east of the system.

If the GFS were to verify we wouldn't have a classified system very long. Remember, some of the models are now trending farther south.
