sunnyday, if you did not notice I retracted the bashing part. There is no need to try and cause trouble when there is a PM button.

His working away from the Oval office should be of concern to Americans. Why can't he do more of his "work" there and save the taxpayers some money? (It costs Millions per year for his travels). We do not need to be the World's police all of the time. He should concentrate on being the leader of OUR country, not the world.

JMHO, not meant to inflame anyone

You guys think he is just joy riding? I just dont get it.. He is not vacationing.. He is taking care of buisness.. You cant run a country just from an office.. The president works 24 hours a day 7 days a week..

Didn't say he was "Joy" riding, I just feel that he can do more from home. And can run "OUR" country better by being here where he should be more.

Well I dont know.. None of us have a CLUE what it takes to run "OUR" country.. So I guess we realy cant be saying where he needs to be huh. I just think its kind of hard to run a country, with out getting out in the "trenches" or what ever it might be.

Fox News Channel website has an article about the President's tour of Asia. One section caught my attention:

Earlier during a 3-hour stop on the Indonesian resort island of Bali, Bush praised President Megawati Sikarnoputri, an ally against terrorism, and tried to dispel the conviction of many Muslims that the war on terror is, in fact, a war against Islam. He presented his case in a meeting with moderate religious leaders.

"I felt he was a quite warm person," said Azyumardi Azra, a Muslim scholar at the National Islamic University in Jakarta. "He responded and he listened."

With gunboats on the horizon and 5,000 troops on shore, Bush's visit took him within several miles of the spot where 202 people were killed in Al Qaeda-linked terrorist bombings a year ago.

Trying to counter anti-American lessons in many Indonesian schools, the president said he would ask Congress for $157 million in education grants for Megawati's government. Like Bush, Megawati faces an election next year, and she tried to appear close to Bush while saying that her citizens are suspicious of the United States.

Another $157 Million dollar - in grants. (Why not loans if anything?) I hope he has deeeeep pockets - how much further can he stretch the American public?

President Clinton was out of the White House quite a bit. It was reported that he was the most travelled President ever.

He visited all 50 states, Nebraska being the last in either very late 1999 or very early 2000.

...And even when Clinton was IN the office, he wasn't always working, if you know what I mean...

Count me in.

About your claim (or somebody elses claim that you agree with) that Bush has traveled more than any other Pres...I think you might want to research into the well documented travels of one William Clinton!

But of course his was a noble cause...raising money for the DNC!

Excellent post Tom.

And somebody must say this so it may as well be me. He traveled to all 50 states when he should have been traveling overseas to prevent what happened in 1993 to WTC and Sept. 11th. Okay, I am ducking. hehe

Let me have it Steph. I am staying under the table. lol.

Thanks Shawn. lol.

No CEO will run a Corporation from his office. I work for a small business but the owner is constantly in and out visiting clients. A country this size will require a President to travel be it Bill Clinton or GW Bush. I have no problem with that even though my tax dollars foot the bill.

No, he wasn't in office for 9/11. But he was there after the '93 attack on the Towers, as well as after Khobar Towers, the US embassies in Africa, and the USS Cole. He did nothing.

Bush took action.
