Historic Hurricane Satellite Images

#1 Postby zal0phus » Fri Sep 27, 2019 9:31 am

I just thought I'd share some simulated satellite images of historic storms that I made.

This one is the 1926 Miami hurricane, I used Hurricane Igor at peak intensity slightly increased in size to make it.

Here's the 1924 Cuba hurricane, for this one I used Hurricane Michael on the night before landfall.

I'm not proud of this one but it's the Okeechobee Hurricane, I put the eye directly over Lake Okeechobee and used Hurricane Karl of 2004 for its huge size.

Here's the 1932 Camaguey hurricane, I suspect this one was a lot stronger than actually reported. I don't recall what hurricane I used for this one, I think it was Ivan though.

And lastly I have the dreaded 1935 Labor Day hurricane, I used Cyclone Monica to make this one. I'm certain the winds in both the Labor Day hurricane and Monica were over 200 mph.

Do not take anything I say seriously as a form of meteorological prediction. I am not a meteorologist; I don't think being in law school translates to any special knowledge. I am just a somewhat bullish amateur watcher.

Very interesting.

Here are some what hurricane I would picture looking like on satellite.
1886 Indianola Hurricane looking like Carla or Katrina as it is a large hurricane.
1899 San Ciriaco Hurricane looking like Irma or Maria.
1900 Galveston Hurricane looking like Katrina or Ike.
