Latest 6-10 and 8-14 day outlooks bears this out. Plus a wet signal. More late season tropical mischief? That's the combo that would support such a scenario

Yep, I'm thinking you're right. With these stout surface high pressure cells that just want to quickly push eastward giving us nothing but a milder nor'easterly breeze. Not the cool down that most of us would prefer though. On the other hand, bring in a large bowl of low pressures to the south.... add a long moist fetch from across the far West Atlantic along with a moderately tight pressure gradient and we have those classic ingredients for one last serving of tropical soup. We'll see if the lower latitude and juicy Caribbean SST's will contribute toward development of something a bit more tropical then this last thing.

A -NAO at this time of the year it does not do much to our temperatures because of a -PNA it cancels it out for us here in FL.
Latest 0z Euro is already backing off on a strong cold front to pass through central FL next weekend, so don't believe the hype from TV Mets about a possible strong fropa on the horizon.
Orlando is on track of having the warmest October on record.
Add at least a couple of 90+ deg highs before the end of the month.

To add to the warm discussion above... Tampa international has yet to record a sub 70 low yet this "Fall"...the latest on record. And it looks like this record late date could be pushed ahead by several days!

The southeast ridge sits high atop its throne as we close out October and head into November. Cold front (of consequence) canceled until further notice

It's a crisp, Autumnal 76. Too bad that's the dewpoint! there are some dewpoints near 80 over west central FL. Wow..

The GFS is trending colder on the Halloween front but the Euro won’t budge. Euro still says “no cold for you!”

Anyone that believes the GFS fantasy fronts...I've got a bridge to sell you. I'm just wishing for something slightly less obnoxious. Considering our current baseline...I'm optimistic..

I guess the heat is thanks to the ridge that won't budge.

Doubtless you've all heard of "The Year Without a Summer"; for central and south Florida this is shaping up to be "The October Without a Cold Front".

(OK technically last week's front made it to I-4, Friday morning it was 71 with a dewpoint of 58 making for open-the-windows weather that lasted about 4-5 hours before the warm front came back up ahead of Nestor, still it's gotta last at least 24-36 hours to count)

Tomorrow night should feel much better...KTPA should break that streak of 70 degree lows with upper 60's expected. Meanwhile, tonight's real feel is "head-in the-dishwasher" conditions. Duck and cover.

Yep, same here :37: Already bought everything for the smores and have ample fire-wood from the yard. Now I just need Mother Nature to pull the trigger

So I looked out the window to the back porch, and it's kind of fogged up which seems unusual.

Then I checked the dewpoint at KTPA, and it's 78. On October 22. Give me a break.

The "streak" has been broken! Get out and dance like it's not gonna last...'cause it won't.

Got down to 52 degrees here at the home station this morning. It feels splendd!! A crisp, cool Fall weather morning!

Oh yeah BTW, this morning's 06Z GFS is trendng back colder, just as I thought it would for the Halloween front next week. Temps in the lower 40s are being possibly shown across North Florida by Halloween Eve. It looks like the long range GFS I posted last week showing a very deep upper trough across the Eastern CONUS appears to be back big time on the docket.
Indeed, this morning's 06Z GFS shows just that in the next week

Yes, bring it on! I am so, so ready for Fall weather!!!

And this just in - 18z GFS backing off significantly on the Halloween cold front. No Surprise!

Don't crow just yet Gatorcane. You know darn too well how these models flip flop back and forth. Still way too early. I will bet the farm this will change again!!!

And it did change back of course Gator

South east ridge FTW! We're going to continue to average out above normal for the foreseeable future. It is the new normal

It’s rare to get cold fronts that produce cold nights and cool days anymore down here.
