Disturbed weather SW of Cabo Verde Islands

#1 Postby cycloneye » Thu Oct 31, 2019 7:49 am

Is October 31 but there is this. :D

A broad area of disturbed weather has developed nearly 1000 miles
south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. Some slow development of
this system is possible during the next day or two while it moves
generally westward across the central Atlantic. Upper-level winds
are forecast to become unfavorable for further development by the
weekend.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...10 percent.

Development in the Atlantic MDR in November is extremely rare. We'll see if anything comes out of this disturbance.

Hurricane Tomas in late October 2010 was an extremely rare event too. Should be interesting to see what happens in this case (not that I'm expecting any development).

That's all folks.

Disorganized showers and thunderstorms located nearly 1000 miles
southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands are associated with a tropical
wave. Upper-level winds are forecast to become unfavorable for
development by later today, and significant development of this
system is not anticipated as the disturbance moves westward at 10
to 15 mph.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...near 0 percent.
