In reality, nothing was expected with talk of this front a week ago, so anything is overachieving. If nothing falls it is just about what we thought a week ago!

at work, so i can't check. how are temps running compared to forecast?

Temperatures falling about two hours ahead of this morning’s nws forecast in n. Fort Worth. Okc already at 37, Davis, Ok at 52 right now

2 hours ahead is the difference between 35 and 32 degrees sometimes

18z 3k NAM came in wetter for DFW and the soundings look really good. Surface temps 34ish, no warm layer aloft, nice saturation, impressive lift, etc. Buckle up?

The FWD discussion matches my thoughts on possible heavy bouts of snow under convective bands. Snow can pile up quickly under these.

Yeah, wet bulb temp will be crucial with this event.

The last I checked, up here outside of WF they are running the same as forecasted so far.

Started to mention this early this morning. It's been many years, but i remember several unexpected heavy snows from wet bulbing when not much more than a rain snow mix was expected.

I like that they mentioned the "bust potential" in the actual forecast. Maybe this will keep it from actually busting. I hope we get some thunder snow. :cold:

Seems like the only model left with possibility for snow in DFW would be the WRF-NMM :double:

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Via WFAA Weather (ABC)

There's a chance for SNOW tomorrow! If you haven't heard, where have you been??

Between about 3am to 10am rain is likely, but could mix or change to snow from the DFW area to the west. Not everyone will see it. Some light accumulations are possible, but icy roads are unlikely.

Already hearing of reports of snow in Roff Oklahoma and surrounding areas at the north most part of the rain band that could be the producer for us. Anyone confirm this?

Radar is showing a changeover to snow south of Ada, ok down to Sulphur. Very small sliver right now.

The nam snow map looks pretty good but on the precip maps it doesn't appear to really changeover in the metro
