GFS says 2 inches here next Wed. and “Accuweather” says Flurries at 29F. TWC only shows cold rain at 35F. :?: :spam:

EDIT: Oops! Meant CMC, not GFS.

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

The 00z EPS members don’t look horrible to be honest. A lot of them actually show some snow over the next 7 days interestingly.

Almost 40% of them show snow/ice for Austin next week. 8-)

Yep, models are definitely trending colder as we head into February. Let's hope for a fun filled back loaded winter! We deserve it :cheesy:

IIRC, Dr. Maue said that since the last upgrade the CMC has been out performing the GFS.

Yep and I've noticed it's accuracy has really increased with the forecasts across TX lately too.

12z GFS and ICON continue to look interesting across central TX during the middle part of next week.

Soundings look good on the 12z GFS for DFW. However, the H5 setup doesn't give me any confidence with a positive tilted trough and small disturbance coming out across Texas ahead of the main system.

I am REALLY hoping it does snow here in Bell. Been way too hot down here lately and it looks like my plants are dehydrated

I have my doubts for next week. Anything that falls will probably be very light as well especially down here.

It seems like mostly everything that falls during the wintertime is on the light side. So many dreary days with mist or drizzle that doesn’t really amount to anything but a nuisance.

We don't want to be in the bullseye this far out. Move it a few counties east over the next few days and jackpot!!!

Our local met seems to think this winter is going to be backloaded and winter will return (or I guess actually start) in Feb.

That's it! Reverse weather psychology! Why don't you complain about the cold weather and wish for temps in the 90s next week? That'll get you snow.

Very clever 57. This is reverse psychology in itself. Your 90's are coming shortly without any help from us. The winter lovers are realistic to some degree. Let us have our dreams, our fantasy models, snow stuff, etc.....Tell me then, what is happening next week in Texas? Cold and snow or 90's?
