If at least parts of Tarrant report something, then I agree. Do have a shot later today. I am giddy for all my FB friends in Midland posting all their snow pics. Looks to be at least six inches with some close to 8 or more.

Some fairly heavy consistent cold rain south of 121 right now, it felt like it got a little colder as soon as it hit. It’s currently 35 but maybe if this keeps up it could lower the temperature enough to luck out?

I can see a glitch in the matrix, though. Note that the previous runs had the big ice storm on the 17th and 18th. Now it's the 20th. Believe at your own peril.

Oh I know, I am just enjoying the fact that February is looking like it will live up to its billing as the peak of winter precip season for TX. I am not buying any specific future storms and I am not really even studying the models beyond the current storm right now.

Right now I am just watching models for tonight to see if I need to wake up to try to see the snow fall.

Carson dickroy on fox/nbc Tyler says nothing to see...temps 34 tonight... seems pretty confident

As of now it is impossible to know. We will not have a significant warm nose tonight as the trough will be close by so 34 at the surface is plenty cold for snow. Main thing is now far north will the moisture be. I expect a dusting south of Tyler with an isolated 1+". I just don't know if areas north of I-20 will have enough moisture for snow tonight. The afternoon hi res models will give us a clue but we won't really know until we see what happens to our SE around midnight tonight. Timing for the Tyler area looks to be around 3AM so if it looks like it will snow I will be waking up a couple hours early tomorrow.

Sufficient moisture when the cold is lacking, sufficient cold when the moisture is lacking. Story of my life.

Started off pouring ice last night and as of right now it looks like we’ve picked up around 3” or so. The forecast calls for on and off snow showers throughout the day so I guess we’ll see if we pick up any more.

Though temps in FTW and Dallas have warmed a bit with the precip diminishing, there may be a shot at a few snowflakes this evening as the precip comes to an end across the area.

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation
Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?
All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Just went to walk around watching cars go down this slushy road lol the traffic map is definitely not as bad as I thought it would be
Y'all that can't post pictures I use imgbb and paste the links here with the image tags
I would say about 2-3 inches here is a good bet so far

There appears to be growing support from the hires models for this. Looks like anywhere from a flurries to 0.25" of snow, depending on where you are at. Nothing widespread but a few areas look to pickup a bit more than a dusting.
