This is sad news indeed. Is this the same fire that Steve's family had to flee from?

These kind of people really tick me off....deliberately liting fires in conditions when fires could not be easily contained.

What should be done but won't because of moral issues is set the arsonists on fire then they will know what its like or have them trapped in the middle of a firestorm.

I feel very strongly about this issue as every summer (here) without fail some idiot will just light fire...it will get out of control take days to contain...and all they basically get is a slap on the wrist. And this happens several times during the bushfire season...not just a once a season thing.

I wish all of us out here who are being affected by this fire could do some harm to the idiots who are setting these fires. I know it sounds harsh, but they are really screwing up our daily lives.

There's some REALLY SICK S.O.B.S out there! It's like this past summer with the Kinishba Fire here, during the pre evacuation orders, we had some dam* kids driving around throwing FIRE CRACKERS into pile of pine needles.....there were MANY spot fires....all the local Fire Depts had their hands full trying to protect Pinetop from the Kinishba fire and we had these JERKS out trying to burn us down anyway! I don't understand!!!

Well I hate to say it but it looks like it could be Al Qaeda members behind the arson.

I haven't heard any mention of these arsonists being terror related.

I have not heard any official word on it being terrorist related Tom. I have my doubts wheather it would be reported if it was as it might cause quite a panic. I have read several warnings and will post them here for you to decide. It might just be wako americans but there have been warnings so who knows. I do know it has been reported that several of the fires are arson.

Internet Intercept 26 October 2003:

"Allah's soldiers will devastate America by its burning...this is nothing but the start of the punishment assisted by Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds....These are the new fires different from the normal as Ramadan starts."

Saturday, 12 July 2003: PHOENIX, Arizona - The FBI alerted law enforcement agencies last month that an Al Qaeda terrorist now in detention had talked of masterminding a plot to set a series of devastating forest fires around the western United States. Fox News

In August, Australian authorities launched an investigation into reports al-Qaida planned to spark bushfires in a new wave of devastating terror attacks. A June 25 FBI memo to United States law enforcement agencies revealed a senior al-Qaida detainee claimed to have developed a plan to start midsummer forest fires in the U.S. Full story from Worldnetdaily.com

Do they get tidbits of news in Guantanamo Bay? Could it be possible for them to claim responsibility for something even though they aren't really responsible for it at all? Just how long was the detainee there? Would he know of new plans or are these long-range plans?
