3-6 majors? That would be a bold prediction. I don't think they'll be so aggressive. Your other numbers look good though.

I’m thinking:

11-18 Named Storms
5-9 Hurricanes
2-5 Major Hurricanes

A wider range seems likely due to the big differences in the seasonal models such as the CFS/NMME verses the ECMWF/UKMET.

I like your overall storm number but probably too high on canes and majors. I say this because they will undoubtedly go conservative being a government organization.

5-8
2-4

Will be more likely but I love that overall storm range.

Wow, NOAA says 60% chance for an above normal season and only a 10% chance for a below normal season. 6-10 canes and 3-6 majors and cycloneye NAILED the storm range ALL THE WAY THROUGH. lol inside info?

I find it interesting that NOAA's numbers are higher than 2017's prediction, which was 11-17 / 5-9 / 2-4.

At this point in 2017, El Niño still looked like a slight possibility. But the MDR was warmer.

How on earth is that pathetic!? They're being conservative! Just take a look at the current Atlantic SST Anomalies and you might see why.

NOAA always uses a TS range of 5-7 in their early forecast. The range of 4 for hurricane and 3 for major is also really common.
