They turned around to check that area again. Is probably just a vorticity rotating around the main CoC.

I am approaching 5 inches of rain total, and very heavy rain with lightning is occuring right now at my home weather station. Flash Flood Warning just issued for Jax Metro area.

Cristobal literally has wiped away our drought within a 12 hour period!! Lol...

Ahh Mother Nature!! We go from one extreme (drought) to another (flash flooding) thanks to our lopsided June tropical cyclone in the Gulf of Mexico, Cristobal.

This is why I love doing this for a living folks!

... and you may not be able to tell it went over. Surprising that Lakefront has had such strong wind this morning. It's exposed to the NE over Lake Pontchartrain.

It's pretty amazing when you get outside of the levees. We're so low here that most of the winds are overhead. But when you cross to the other side, it can get to howling. Hurricane Dennis 2005 was a great storm for that. It hit Santa Rosa County, but Lake Pontchartrain was the sound of clanging masts and other metal stuff on sailboats that make a lot of noise. If this video uploads to YouTube, I'll send y'all some love.

My hunch is this will be a system that comes together a little better as it interacts with land. Often these broad systems tighten up due to land friction. I don’t think it will strengthen much more, but the tightening could help stronger thunderstorms develop to transport the higher winds to the surface.

Yeah, well could be. Maybe 34-35N will be the hotspot. Here's a little clip from my backyard a few minutes ago. Just some rainfall at the trees (probably hard to see the rain) until those late gusts bust through.

Reporting in from Extreme SE MS. Wind and plenty of rain here. Wind started at about 3 and the wind came shortly thereafter. Looking at the the system in it's current state, I'm not expecting a ton of wind, but lots of rain. We're in zone "X" so should be fine in regards to that. Brand new development so we'll see how the irrigation holds up, I suspect.

My singular concern with this system is that it does something completely out of right field like stall once it hit land and just grow. These GoM storms do silly things and Cirstobal has been a strange one. Still potentoal to dump a ton of rain IMO. Come noon I'll be sitting in my garage with my recliner, a full cooler, and the door open. I'll post some pics if it gets exciting enough.

I know never say never, but the stalling potential on this one is quite low. It may slow down as it comes onshore, but only briefly. It should actually pick up in speed as it moves north across LA and AR.

Breezy nothing major here in Biloxi lots of rain got our first tornado warning radar implied.It looks by satellite that the storm is tightening up some due to land interaction since what it looked like a few hours ago looking more tropical.The system still looks to more of a rain event than anything.
