The weather over the next week or two looks horrible.

The latest Euro and CFS Weeklies show us getting into a wetter pattern by the last week of the month. Let's hold on to that hope. Because I don't think I can take this hot and dry pattern much longer...

I am getting a pool quote today. It's the only thing that can make Texas summer bearable, so I hate the cost, but I am looking into seeing if it's doable.

It's such a production to have to go to the neighborhood pool and follow the big list of rules etc. I just want my own despite the crazy cost. Even if it's a tiny plunge pool. My wife is like no way, so have to convince her. Lol.

You might look into a livestock tank pool. You get a water tank for cows at Tractor Supply or a feed store and set it up with a pump and filter. They’re not supposed to rust but some people coat them with truck bedliner or similar. It’s… shall we say, rustic… but if it works, it works!

Also seconding the hope for rain soon. The garden is looking parched even with regular watering.

Yes. Even at my location, heat indices were between 105-110 this afternoon. The humidity is really high today.

Was coming to post the same, it looks like we just need to get through these next two weeks and then the pattern resets. However, I'm always nervous once a summer like patter sets in across Texas but this looks to be more the result of the TS than a true pattern change. Take out Cristobal and today might have produced widespread storms farther south?

The humidity is so much lower too! In Southeast Texas, this is usually a blessing in June!

Longer range finally starting to show some positive rainfall anomalies across Texas. However, a long hot and dry 10ish days still to go

Some areas are pushing 90F this afternoon and then will make a run at the upper 50s tonight. The magic of very dry air!

They said on the weather this morning that it was dust from west Texas that blew into central Texas.

Finally, a period of quiet weather! Of course, with no precipitation
in the forecast for the next 7 days during what is climatologically
speaking still the wettest part of the year here in south-central
TX, this could become too much of a good thing if precipitation
chances continue to look grim in week 2 and beyond.

Record dry air in DFW, I had no clue until Tom Bradshaw pointed it out on Twitter (he is a great follow for anyone interested in DFW weather). Also, support continues to grow for a return to a wetter or, at least, normal pattern for parts of Texas.

If it's not covered from the sun, save your money and go take a hot bath I should know....promise a pool is great for about a year, then the idea of a cool relaxing pool turns into work and that's about it.

.SHORT TERM (Tonight through Saturday Night)...
High pressure ridging still dominating the area, keeping us warm and
dry. With dew points still relatively low, outside temperature
remains pleasant with no increased heat index. Winds are mostly east
northeasterly and relatively light. This trend will continue through
the short term period and no significant changes are expected.

.LONG TERM (Sunday through Friday)...
The beginning of the long-term forecast will start out about the
same as the previous days, dry with drier air remaining in place.
Sunday morning will start out in the lower to middle 60s with highs
in the lower to middle 90s. Surface winds will be in the east with
speeds at or less than 10 mph. The light easterly flow will continue
Tuesday which will keep the moisture on the lower side. Lows will
remain in the middle 60s on Monday but as moisture slightly increases
through the remainder of the long-term period, lows will increase
into the lower 70s by the end of the work week. The highs in the
lower 90s will also warm into the middle to upper 90s by the end of
the period. Little to no moisture is expected to remain through most
of the long term period, but there could be a couple of showers
return by Thursday or Friday. However, chances were too low to
mention in the forecast at this time.
