Tropical Wave East of Windward Islands
https://i.imgur.com/DDY9ClY.mp4
Very impressive wave for early June out around 8N 45W, can even see some low level turning in the lower clouds. Likely a very transient feature as conditions are not favourable, but still a fun little thing to watch so early in the season!

Re: Tropical wave in central Atlantic
Closeup shows the impressive inverted V signature and there is a weak turning.

Re: Tropical wave in central Atlantic
Not bad looking for this time of the year. The one approaching Trinidad and Tobago is not bad looking either.
I remember back in 2017 how the TWs were very impressive in June, with the same low latitude as these two.

Re: Tropical wave in central Atlantic
also the wave near the islands also produced and vigorous closed low level vort. that will travel to the western carrib and likely get things going there..
then this one will likely be the final catalyst for development in the western carrib.

When the basin produces a early season cyclone in the MDR, it's time to lace up your tracking shoe's.

Re: Tropical Wave East of Windward Islands
This is the wave the models have been jumping back and forth on that may develop a warm core in the west Carib.

Re: Tropical Wave East of Windward Islands
Its actually firing due to the fact its interacting with a shear axis; not totally engulfed in shear.
