Guess the duct tape and plastic scare didn't work..now they are gonna blame Fires on terrorists.....Fear campaign tatics :roll:

Whats next The terrorists have commendeered Tornadoes.... :eek:

Yes it would be easy to do ameriwx2003. I posted a response along this line in another thread 10 minutes before you started this thread. Well now that we have opened this can of worms try this intel on for size.

I am not sure what you are implying by chasing shadows. Is that a good thing or bad thing in your opinion?

Rainband... Nobody is saying the fires are terror related:):):). It would be such a simple thing to do that I am surprised it hasn't happened yet. Its a fine line between fear tactics and keeping people aware I admit. Though when the next major attack happens how many people will be screaming why weren't we informed of this threat??:):):)..

It sure is fire season out west. Now let's suppose the terrorists have a plot to start a number of fires. Like this warning:

I mean....anything that happens is not because of a terrorist plot. Look at what has happened. If Al Qaeda wants to pull off a terror act, they are not going to set forrest fires because that isn't spectacular enough. Tragic as the fires are in California, the pictures on the screen are not startling enough for Al Qaeda. Torn up bodies and smoking rubble with tearful rescue workers on CNN is what they want. Americans need constant reminders or we lose site of the forest because of the trees. This is a real war with enemies who know that Americans run at the site of blood. Its the Vietnam effect.

They are achieving part of there goal in that we are looking for terrorism behind everything bad that happens. Now, because nothing happens, we are already giving up and forgetting what got us here. We have postings on this board from people saying "well nothing has happened so this whole terror thing is bunk." Why are we in Iraq when our guys are just getting potshots thrown their way and a few car bombs. Its terror folks!! Fight the bastards there instead of here! The politicians stand aroung arguing about money and who is right. The same people who "cring" in fear at the suggestion that they might start forrest fires set by terrorist have no clue why fighting a bunch of bombers in Iraq IS fighting the war on terror. You want to worry about something? Consider this chronology....

1. Terrorist bomb WTC. People die.
2. Terror network ambushes Rangers in Somalia. Troops die.
3. Naval warship bombed. Sailors die.
4. Embassies bombed across Africa. Diplomats die.

Terrorist pay no price for their actions!!

9/11 Happens. 3000? die.

Take the war to them!! In Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, the West Bank or forrest fires will be the least of our worries. How about a nuke in San Fran harbor?

I apologize for my long winded ranting. I mean no offense to anyone. Frustrating!

Well I might be looking at the fires differently. True they are not spectacular enough but look at it from another angle. What if the fires are set to tie up resources. Nothing like a 1,000 or so Firefighters tied up out of their normal area. So now that EMS and Police are busy with the fires something else can go boom with more effect and possibly more loss of life/property.
