crazy storms here in Galveston last night and this morning(woke me up several times) and now the sun is out

Kinda surprised y'all are not over in the 91L thread ... hooting and hollering about that system. It does seem to be getting it's act together this morning. We may actually get some rain here in south central Texas. Now wouldn't that be something?!

No one really talks in here unless you’re from the DFW area. If it’s not going to benefit DFW then expect this thread to be dead. Said it before and I’ll say it again, we need more people from other parts of Texas to join this site.

Afternoon thunderstorms the last few days have brought cooler temps (upper 80's/low 90's) and a bit of rain to East Texas. Some nice rain totals can be had if you get lucky enough to bd under one of the heavier cores. For me in Longview, I had 0.2" yesterday and 0.1" today. Missing out on the 1"+ totals in the area.

At least someone is Texas looks to get some more rain from TD #8. I'm probably too far north unless something changes. Hopefully south Texas can get a nice soaker!

For much of us 90s and being held under 100 for late July is pretty much a win. It's a bit more humid than we'd like but we'll take it during the hottest weeks of the year. about 3-4 weeks to go before climo creeps down!

Yeah that would be depressing. Hopefully the northern side of the system will contain more outer rainbands than the models currently indicate. I feel like Austin and especially SA could see up to 2-3 inches of rain from this storm.

Hanna's track doesnt look good for most. if that left turn happens it will probably hurt the north side too

Hanna is going the wrong way. Don't see much relief in short term for DFW from the Summer although forecast highs are slightly lower the next few days. Humidity still making it unpleasant outside. Could be worse.

A landfalling TC hooking to the WSW/SW is scary for my location. We shall see what happens with Hanna!


Tropical Storm Hanna continues to move westward towards the Texas coast and is expected to bring heavy rainfall to much of the region, raising concerns for flash flooding. Rainfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches will occur across much of the area with local amounts of 12+ inches. Avoid roads that typically flood, and plan to remain in a safe area until any floodwaters recede. Turn around, don't drown!

Flash Flood Watches just issued for the southern part of SETX. That would include me here in Wharton County! C’mon rain!!

And btw guys we really need to pay attention to 92L. Have a bad feeling that’s going to have major impacts for someone along the Gulf coast.

This thread is quite dead considering a hurricane is forecasted to make landfall tomorrow lol... Unfortunately 90% of us will get barely any rain out of it so I don’t blame tuning it out. Pretty annoying how the euro teased us so badly earlier in the week. :/

I'm back in Dallas but driving up through Houston around noon earlier every sign on 45 was warning about "storm brewing in the Gulf fill up on gas" I had to laugh a little. Galveston wasn't even under a TS warning

not arguing about deep South Texas but that's a long way away...
