Good call, she's already at 982 per the last advisory so she has been strengthening at a faster rate (1.2 mb/hr roughly since I posted, .7 mb/hr prior to that yesterday). Seems like she might be strengthening even faster than that at present, so you may have nailed it!

Hanna is deepening at approximately 2 mb/hr, so with roughly five hours left until landfall, it’ll easily peak at 970 mbar. That rate could slightly increase if the eye starts clearing out. I really with they had a dropsonde in the second pass so I can calculate how fast Hanna is moving to get a better estimate of how long it has left to intensify.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Another sign of continued intensification, gravity waves in the latest tower.

About triple the rate that I calculated from yesterday (.7 mb/hr). Seems like there is a chance she will qualify for a RI? Wikipedia (could be wrong, I know) says that an RI is a 35 mph increase in winds over a 24 hour period. Hanna was tagged at 45 mph at 11 yesterday iirc, so if she makes it to 80 mph on the next advisory, doesn't that meet the definition?

Solid eyewall now wrapped completely around center which is becoming more circular rather than elliptical. Look for the center to continue to tighten as land frictional forces move to shrink the eye. Looking pretty healthy on RAD.

Hanna woke me up....stayed up way too late. It is really windy now and raining through my screened in porch. I thought for sure this was going SW last night.

What's up with the big blob of convection south of the storm center near the Mexican coast on IR? Looks weird and I can't recall another storm looking like that off the top of my head.

At 4.2mph and if that stands till landfall feel sorry for those to the R of the eye.I know when Georges came in at 5mph I felt it would stall with such weak steering currents and I was never so happy to be in the eye at 3AM everything went quite and it stayed that way for hours never experience the other side of the eye.The flip side was those in Ocean Springs and Pascagoula got a beat down for hours.

Area of convergence that Hanna has had since yesterday on that SW quadrant.

It is, it is just the eye is really big.

If the areas of lowest pressure are to be believed it took a jog to the north of west

That’s awfully slow. I guess it’ll be over water longer than I anticipated.

She appears to still be moving mostly west, perhaps closer to 260 rather than 270. Latest fix has her down to 4 mph however. Stay safe and keep us in the loop on your conditions Irak. You may be getting part of the northern eyewall later today.
