I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Gonzalo certainly was fun to track, and was the system that covered the "July MDR storm" bullet point from the above-average to hyperactive season checklist.
Slim chance of redevelopment, but I expect that this is the last message I'll send in here.
Absolutely. Outside of the fact that it's a relatively rare first-half MDR system (which typically only occur during very active seasons as you've mentioned), it formed under the influenced of large-scale subsidence from a suppressed CCKW. That, I think, speaks volumes about the overall favorability in the Atlantic this year. If the MDR can get going in late-July when conditions aren't the most hospitable climatology-wise (we also have 92L right behind it which has the potential to become a much stronger system) then I dread what we will be seeing during ASO.

Gonzalo was a very resilient fighter for such a tiny cyclone. He definitely has been the most interesting and most fun cyclone of analysis and tracking for yours truly thus far this season. I know we will have many other cyclones upcoming, but Gonzalo took the salvos and the bullets and sacrificed itself to pave the way for 92L and the other future CV waves to develop now on through the remainder of the peak of the season.

Re: ATL: GONZALO - Remnants - Discussion
Indeed, it was an interesting little storm to track.
Here in T&T, we didn't get as much rain as predicted, with the airport in Trinidad recording just 5.7 mm, barely a quarter of what the average afternoon thunderstorm dumps.
But it did provide some more substantial rainfall for Tobago and isolated parts of Trinidad, and the good thing was that it didn't cause much flooding apart from a couple isolated incidents. I don't recall seeing any reports of landslides or landslips either, so overall its passage was relatively swift and with little impact.
Also, thanks to Gonzalo, there were some interesting sceneries along the coast with dark, squally-looking clouds offshore beneath dismal, white skies and one or two isolated strong thunderstorms. This, combined with sustained winds that were either at or near tropical storm-force, kicked up seas slightly in the normally sheltered Gulf of Paria.

PLEASE NOTE: With the exception of information from weather agencies that I may copy and paste here, my posts will NEVER be official, since I am NOT a meteorologist. They are solely my amateur opinion, and may or may not be accurate. Therefore, please DO NOT use them as official details, particularly when making important decisions. Thank you.

Energizer Bunny
Firing all morning in a high shear environment and not washing out.
In fact, convection is deepening.
Currently on the SE side of an ULL situated south of Hispanola.
Chances increase for development when waves get on the SW side of an ULL.
Seen it many times when Hot Towers fire off then and rearrange the upper troposphere knocking out shear and creating an anticyclone.
Especially in the west Carib.
Stay tuned.

This year is just different from any other. This needs to be watched closely. Hopefully it doesnt reorganize and make it to the gulf

Yes he has a heart of gold, an incredible fighter. He is already down as the most interesting cyclone of the season for yours truly,
However, if Gonzalo somehow pulls off this Lazarus act , he would have to go down as a bonafide Hall of Famer for his tenacity alone,

Seems to be moving into Nicaragua now but I'm curious to see what happens once the energy re-emerges into the EPac.

Colors of lost purpose on the canvas of irrelevance
Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

What I said earlier still stands. However, if he crosses over and develops in the Eastern Pacific , he would have to go down as a HOF .lol.. i still think last Wednesday, he attained briefly hurricane status, but I hope in post analysis , the NHC will adjust this.
I too will see what Gonzalo's remnants does in the coming days,
for curiosity.
In the meantime , I will be extremely busy potentially.prepping and working round the clock tracking and analyzing Isaias in the coming days!!
