This is the goofiest storm I think I've ever seen. It's going to be fascinating watching this tomorrow pinball its way thru Hispaniola

Intensity forecast back up to 65 mph. Should've stuck with Stewart's forecast

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 345 miles (555 km)
mainly to the northeast of the center. :double:

Well that’s quite a jump from 275 earlier

We are going to need those extra Greek Alphabet names for sure this year at this pace.

Five? FIVE? 5th named storm..... in just July? Take the normal July average and multiply that accordingly. I mean, that's like having something like 8-12 named storms in August LOL. This just makes me dizzy

Interesting that the NHC cone shifts east considering the center is further south. Yes the models are east but that is because they initialize the center further north. Also wasn't expecting 55 kts.

That track looks like they made the forecast before the center position was set.

The intensity forecast as well. They have it going over the highest mountains in Hispaniola.

Discussion is running late, so NHC was making last minute adjustments tonight.

It looks like they are anticipating the models to shift ...
all the models cross over the eastern portion of Hispaniola except the Euro.

Wow we reached the I name before we are even in August. To add to that, this is the first time we have Isaias, 2014 didn't even get there for the entire season.

Not going to lie, this is probably the most difficult storm to spell, say, and to track.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

Since the cyclone is expected to move over Hispaniola on Thursday
some weakening is likely within the next 24 hours. However since
Isaias has such a broad wind field, the weakening will probably not
be as significant as in a typical tropical cyclone with a small
radius of maximum winds. Also, a re-formation of the center to the
north of Hispaniola may occur.

Man with such a busy stretch recently I forget just how dull and hostile those 2013-2015 hurricane seasons were

It might finally have a circulation center, but it is still huge and not well consolidated. Not much of a core to disrupt and its structure, or lack thereof may allow for easier center relocation.

Edit: looks like I was beat to the punch. NHC seems to have similar thoughts
