Punt until they have recon is what it seemed like to me there, which given the situation with the center, is probably the best thing to do.

I live not far away from you in Brooklyn and have friends in Long Beach. Just stick with us here and we will help you get through this and keep your stress down. Just listen to the promets here and especially the NHC and you'll be able to make the right decisions.
I have 2 kids and their families in Brooklyn. My son is pretty near LaGuardia and my daughter in Bay Ridge and she is pretty near the coast. What can they
expect?
It's a valid question but it's still too early to know for sure. Meaning, it could range from nothing at all to hurricane force conditions but that would be less likely. Best thing to do is to stay tuned and up to date. No reason to make or change any immediate plans. Circumstances and longer range storm track will start to become more clear in 2-3 days.

Hipshot, it is way too early to speculate that. I'm sorry, but it's going to take a few more days before speculations of impact can really be given.

That's exactly what they did, and realistically, all they could do.

It's already reconsolidating as it pulls away from Hispaniola.

One word is the reason, Hispaniola but after it moves away from the island it will come back some

I have a feeling Recon will find a stronger storm - and we may be looking at a Special Advisory in the next hour or so in that case? Already there are 62 kt FL winds and that is far from the center.

Pretty good strong flight level winds so far.

That was a very boring discussion, almost like a copy a paste from previous discussion.

First discussion I can recall where the "Key Points" section is longer than the body of the discussion. Like someone else said, this was a total punt.

Re: ATL: ISAIAS - Tropical Storm - Discussion
I don't expect much overnight as Isaias is still close to Hispaniola. Tomorrow should get a better idea what Isaias is going to do intensity wise.....MGC

Yeah, they kicked the can down the road on that one. Just not enough solid information to make any substantial changes. They'll wait for fresh recon and see what it looks like once it clears the coast and gathers back some steam.

Looks like it might be south, rather than west, of the building CDO and mid-level circulation.

Stronger winds than earlier estimated.

Recon should be making a center pass in the next 20ish minutes.

I don't understand this storm, it looks great and is still an open wave but now looks like a ragged mess and is now potentially a hurricane
