That looks like it is coming ashore a lot further south than predicted. Will it start over land further to the west ?

And warming up significantly?

Looks like it did, but it doesn't appear to be done yet. We all watched it the last few days trying to jumpstart. Sometimes it could get the engine cranking only to see it sputter. Maybe we see one more crank this evening or tonight before it's onshore. I would bet a little less than I would have the last few days, but maybe. NAM and HRRR don't really agree, but it does end up looking cool over Chesapeake Bay on the HRRR (see second link)

For y'all left in the path, all the intensity models keep wind speeds above 40mph for 24 hours, and then it tails off over the next 2-3 days.

If this is confirmed, it's a hurricane.

Just a little humor before the storm from the Mayor of Oak Island, NC. He has had a lot of things to deal with over the past few years, but can always take the time to laugh a little.

Thread is way too quiet considering a basically-hurricane is about to make landfall on the East Coast.

Here in Jupiter, think my mango tree blew a couple leaves into the pool. Still recovering.

Looks like Oak island is in the cross hairs. Probably a glancing blow with a second full landfall just past Wilmington. With the majority of the eye still over water, that should give it another few hours time worth of strengthening.

Looks to be moving parallel to the coast. Landfall between state line and oak island. Probably 80mph. Just an opinion!

70 kt SFMR in the heavy band on the SW side. FL winds nearly match that...

Most likely, especially considering that was only on the west side.
