He states that it will be because of a high pressure that will develop off the east coast of Florida that will push the storms more westward.

According to the best track data, TD14 has developed into TS Marco.

Now the earliest 13th named storm by 11 days. Another 2005 record down the drain.

First time ever we hit M in August.

That's two records down in about 12 hours.

Yes, and some of the latest Euro ensembles are sending Laura towards TX/MX. Reminds me of Ike's trek

Nana has until September 4 and Omar until September 6 to keep the record runs going.

S2K has been discussing since last weekend. We knew we'd have a deep trough that would probably split (thought it could leave back a piece of energy) and as it collapsed or lifted out, that was the next influence steering current to grab the stage. Watch your model(s)-of-choice as they evolve at 500mb over the next 4-6 runs and you'll get the idea as to their interpretation of whether or not it will be stronger at time point x.

I think it clips Cuba before it clips the YUC it's just following the path of least resistance ATTM and that is what all TS do.Quite evident on the WV.This storm is so small right now you could be 50/75 miles away and not really think much of it.I remember Nate in 2017(?) it was not 75mph at the surface by no means and tiny.

Tex/Mex would not even be close to Ike though. That type of track would also mean a huge amount of time over the center of the GoM.

Little Marco is in a pretty great upper level spot right now. Let's see if it flares up overnight.

Those winds are much higher than FL at that point though.

Yes, At one point the NHC Had Ike threatening the TX/MX border after interacting with Cuba. Laura will be in a similar scenario/position/model spread.

Yeah but very close to the center, these little storms can spin up rather quickly as you know. IR sat

In all seriousness, I don’t even think Marco is going to make a landfall on the peninsula...

As recently as 12Z today every model guidance had future Marco traversing over Cozumel. Just goes to show how quickly things can change with poorly defined storms.
