Significant buildup of CDO right smack in the middle of Marco in the last number of frames. Not a good sign.

If I am reading this correctly, does this mean a further shift east?

More the fact the trof is breaking down.

Watch out for any tower that fires in about 5000 CAPE and above.
It will totally obliterate the trof.
GoM is not there yet, but could be tomorrow.

Marco could take a worse track for New Orleans than Katrina did. Thankfully it will likely not be anywhere near as intense.

If you start to see these winds take a sudden shift to the right, get your everything together.
It'll be a loose cannon in the GoM

Have to consider the size of Marco compared to Katrina. Katrina's hurricane-force winds extended out to about 120 miles from the center. Marco's may only extend out 20 miles Tiny in comparison. Tiny storm = small storm surge. Think Cat 4 Charley into Florida. Very small surge due to its small size.

Andrew 1992 into South Floria is another good example of such.

The land interaction with the west end of Cuba could broaden Marco a bit to the east.

Mesoscale Convective System.

A large, self sustaining area of thunderstorms that are on the move.

Recon is nearing Marco. However, it looks less impressive on satellite imagery than during the previous flight, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it has weakened somewhat.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

I agree, however sometimes satellite imagery can be deceiving

That's just crazy and bad news for Louisiana. I cant recall 2 Hurricanes hitting almost the same area within a few days of each other.....

Recon finds a slightly weaker Marco. Pressure looks to be about 997 now, winds probably down to 50 kt.
