I am just below 34° North ... any chance of seeing them at my latitude? :?

I understand that people were able to see them early this morning (Wednesday morning) across northern Florida, which is around 30°N.

The latitudes of Tallahassee, FL and Jacksonville, FL are 30.45°N and 30.33°N, respectively.

As SF mentioned, he is able to see the northern lights and Columbia, SC is right on the 34.0°N line.

The marine layer brings in moisture, this wouldn't help in the wildfires even a little bit, before Friday's 40% chance of rain?

Some great pictures here people. We too have seen this marvel in the UK. There are some nice pictures floating on the UK forums too. Unfortunately for me we were clouded out.

CLOUDS UPSTREAM...ONLY EXPECTING SOME THIN CIRRUS AND CONTRAILS.
WITH THE SKIES REMAINING CLEAR TONIGHT...ANOTHER UNCOMMON LOOK AT
THE AURORA BOREALIS/NORTHERN LIGHTS COULD TAKE PLACE.

RADIATIONAL COOLING WILL ONCE AGAIN OCCUR TONIGHT...WILL ADVERTISE
WARMER TEMPS THAN THIS MORNINGS VALUES AS DWPTS...WINDS...AND THIS
AFTERNOON'S HIGH TEMPS WILL KEEP MINS WARMER. PLEASANT WEATHER WILL
CONTINUE INTO THE WEEKEND AS HIGH PRESSURE DEEPENS. STARTING
SAT...TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN ABOUT 5 TO 10 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.

EXTENDED...
GFS IS CONSISTENT WITH H5 RIDGE BECOMING CENTERED OVER THE FA ON

WILL SLIDE OVER THE ATLANTIC EARLY IN THE WEEK...AS IT DOES

BECOME DRIER WITH THE MOISTURE PLUME OVER THE DEEP SOUTH. IN
ADDITION...A COLD FRONT DEPICTED ON THE 0Z GFS TO BE OVER THE
WESTERN HALF OF THE CWA ON DAY 7 APPEARS TO BE SLOWER ON THE LATTER
RUNS. TAKING A GLANCE OF OTHER MEDIUM RANGE MODELS SOME DETAILS ARE
LOST...OVERALL...LITTLE IF ANY QPF IS DEPICTED. GIVEN THE

And what do we get? Nothing because of the da|*| n marine layer and clouds... :roll:

I should clarify that I want the fires to end ... but I will likely never see the auroras at this rate ... and why do people ALWAYS have to mention the NE??????????!!!!!!!!!!!

Joshua, there must not be any reports from the north-central and northwestern United States.

And again..... If I were from say, Washington, I will totally understand why the northeast is mentioned more often because of the very high population from Boston, Massachusetts to Washington, D.C.

I saw a little red last night...which I'm pretty sure was a little bit of the AURORA.

Was hoping I'd see more.

I caught a glimpse of the aurora last night between 6 and 6:15 PM. There was red on the NE sky extending over toward the NW sky - along with some white colored light beams in the NW sky. It did not last very long, and was not really bright - but it was still cool. 8-)
